Verdict

Gulgong trainer Brett Thompson has a really strong hand in this with three live chances. Tipping Zaibatsu but also very wary of the two stablemates who are both fresh. ZAIBATSU (6) is a former NSW then former Victorian who had his first start for the yard and got off the mark immediately with a maiden win. Fitter again and can make it back-to-back wins. CHAMP DE MARS (5) doesn't win out of turn but is well placed here with the claim and looks a leading prospect. PRESS GAZE (7) had nothing go right at the start last run and went for a break. Has good form for this and the speed and take running down fresh. Stablemate PROOFREADER (3) also resumes and is a two-start galloper who has won fresh and is expected to run well off the inside draw.
