Verdict

PRECISE STAR (5) transferred from Waller to Gollan before returning from a 192-day spell last start. Hit the ground running for the new mentor, scoring narrowly over 6f at this track. Needs a 10/10 ride from the wide alley but with some improvement to come he can take this next step and salute again. VOVO (9) led for the judge when resuming over 6f here five weeks ago before tiring in the closing stages to miss the frame. Given time to recover from that effort. Sure to offer a lot more resistance this time. SNUGG (8) gave away a big start at Beaudesert most recently and couldn't get involved in a 6f Class 2 for the mares. Probably goes back again but can do better over this slightly longer journey. ROYAL GLADIATOR (4) is mixing his form. Down a little in class on the latest run. Should go forward and give backers a sight. EXCEED PERFECTION (10) returns from a 19-week spell and has switched to the Munce camp. Good provincial form in NSW last prep should stand up well.
