Verdict

A tough race to end the program. SUNDAY GEORGIE (11) resumes for Declan Maher and has switched from his brother's yard in Victoria. Didn't come up last campaign in stronger than this, but showed plenty the one before. That form would win this and he has two trials under the saddle. MELTDOWN (6) was only beaten 2.5L at Eagle Farm first-up in a CL1 and then didn't have much luck at the Gold Coast. Goes well this course/distance and delivered his sole third-up outing. The gate is awkward but he rates to be right in it. BRUTAL BOWLER (2) has the ability and has also been racing in stronger. Will present at peak fitness and should be ready to fire. OVAL OFFICE (8) led first-up and was just nudged out in a CL1 at Ballina. Tacked a CL2 there following and was crowded on jumping. Presents fitter and will position forward from a low barrier. Could surprise. HEY CHARDONNAY (15) will be better for the first-up outing. Needs a good ride but is worth considering.
