MELTDOWN (3) hit the line strongly to finish third over this track and trip at the latest effort and looks to be improving with racing. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and this is not an overly strong affair. Rates the testing material. ATOMIC GOZEN (9) just ran into one better when having her first run for the new stable and is sure to have come on with that run now in the locker. Can go one better. PAPERINO (11) has hit the top-five in four of five starts to date and is usually thereabouts. Top-three candidate. LET'S DO IT AGAIN (2) started at $15 on debut last start and finished sixth over 6f at Gold Coast. Tackles a longer journey and drops in the weights on his last run.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

A racing surface comprised of silica sand and fibers, such as recycled carpet or spandex. The mixture is then sealed with wax.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
