SIR MAURICE (1) is going better than his form reads and is ready to play a more significant role on the short turnaround. Has a solid record here and gets weight assistance from Orr's 7lbs claim. Bold showing anticipated. CUESTA (2) has been coming through stronger races, including a CL2 at Ipswich where she was held up, and her record around 7f gives her a genuine chance to turn the tables. MAGIC MOZ (8) was beaten just over half a length as favourite at Ipswich and had difficulty getting clear near the ¾f, making her a clear danger with further improvement likely. ENCOURAGED (7) has to rebound from a plain Gold Coast run, but that came with a hanging-out excuse and he is a track winner with Ben Thompson taking the ride. WATER LAD (6) backs up quickly and has peaks that can play a role in the minors.
