Verdict

KUIA MA (2) did some early work after a poor jump then found plenty in the latter stages to hang on for second when resuming over this distance at Ipswich last start. Kept fresh since that return a month ago. Brings better form here than the key rivals and looks a great chance to go one better. RED MOON RISING (9) hasn't fired since a placing on debut here last November. Steps up in distance today and can improve without surprising in a race that lacks depth. HURKLE DURKLE (4) went close two back over this distance at Kilcoy then knocked up badly at the end of 5 ½f at Toowoomba most recently. Tongue tie goes on which may explain that last failure. Can improve back up to her preferred trip. EVERYREADY BUNNY (12) returns from a 12-month spell in a new stable. No trial form to assist but it is worth noting the blinkers go on for the first time. Betting watch advised. INDAMOUSE (1) can do better back in trip off a five-week let-up.

Second run back. First-up after six months held ground to the line 2nd of 11 at Ipswich Mdn on June 25 over 6f, slow going 0.8 len behind La Profecia with 130lbs at $9. Previously second-up 4th of 9 at this track 3yo C&G Mdn on December 14 over 6f, 3.5 len behind Camelight with 131lbs at $14. No luck again with the barrier draw but with that run under the belt he looks the testing material.

Most recently 7th of 9 at Gold Coast 3yo Mdn-Sw on July 4 over 5f, 5.5 len behind Starlightning carrying 123lbs at $31. The race before that 4th of 10 at Ipswich 3yo Mdn on June 4 over 5 ½f, on a slow track, 3.5 len behind Racketeer with 123lbs at $26. Not a great draw again but should fare a lot better in this suitable contest.
