Verdict

Race gets hammered by scratchings. Big change of scenery in the morning and that can suit SPIES ON (10) who went down by the narrowest of margins when facing the starter for the first time. Bright debut performance and can be all the better for it. Has the rating against what is now a thin line up and hoop Thompson stays on top. All bodes well. PEANUTS (3) is on debut but has been thereabouts in both trials and gets 3lbs off from the inside marble. Ticks a few boxes in what is a nice race to kick off in. Perhaps the next best is now PRONTO PERCY (9) who hasn't been threatening but has the ratings to get involved in this.
