STEADY READY (2) led for the judge in the Lightning last start over this distance at Eagle Farm and looked home only to be bloused late. Rising seven-year-old who might need an extra run or two to hit his peak now. Should be in the picture for a long way. Quality mare WANDA ROX (14) is a big danger at her first run in 16 weeks. Had won five of five first-up runs before a hiccup when fresh in the Listed Bribie last prep. Beautifully in on 54kgs and is drawn ideally so she is impossible to leave out of calculations. ZOUPERB (15) has been very good in three stakes runs this prep, including a third in the Lightning contested by Steady Ready two back. Sure to give a good account with the light weight out of gate one. The classy EPIC PROPORTIONS (1) is back after a seven-month spell. Yet to miss a cheque in four first-up appearances. Hoof filler not in use this prep which is a positive sign. SCAMPI (4) is rarely far away and his win stats at this distance sit at 40%.
