Verdict

THE BEAR (2) was outgraded first-up and then raced in a 65 this track/trip beaten a nose. They've always had an opinion of this fellow, and he should go on to better things this preparation. Has an inside barrier and the 4lbs claim brings him right into it. THE TORQUE XPRESS (12) resumed with an easy Maiden win at Ballina and he followed with a near miss at Grafton. Tumbles in weight, and he has plenty of scope for improvement. BILLY BOOM (13) peaks off a narrow defeat here over shorter and has a couple of key gear chances. Maps well and is well in the mix. ROCHEDALE HERO (1) showed plenty at the trials before winning an Ipswich Maiden on debut, heavily bet. This is a step up, but he's going to win more races and may begin that progression here. BRUTAL BOWLER (7) is a second-up winner with plenty to give. May need longer now, but keep onside.
