THINKING GOLD (3) has been a model of consistency despite only winning twice from 16 starts, finishing in the placings on 6 other occasions. He is having just his second Queensland start since being bought out of Victoria, and after his fresh up second, he can go one better here. STRANGLEHOLD (1) showed plenty of determination when scoring by a narrow margin at Ipswich 2 starts ago before another honest effort for fourth last time. He benefits from a 3lbs claim, and can figure in the top 3 here. MAKAMAE (7) was well below her best when finishing down the track as the favourite at this venue last start when racing too keenly, but she is far better than that effort suggests, so give her a chance to make amends. DOUBLE WHAMMY (6) has been not too bad in 3 starts since winning here by a nose at the end of May. Stick with him.
