Verdict

ARAPAWA (3) absolutely bolted in over this course and distance two runs back in a Class 2, leading from the outset. Tackled a BM72 at Randwick last start but couldn't compete after being handy on the corner. Great chance to bounce back to form in this more suitable assignment. Veteran TALKACHINO (2) has returned in good order this prep. Raced handy and showed plenty of ticker to be beaten less than a length over 6 ½f at Dubbo last time. Twice a winner at today's journey and should be cherry ripe at this stage of the campaign. SPLASH OF STEEL (8) came with a nicely timed run to collect his maiden win over this distance at Tamworth a fortnight ago. Big step up this time but cannot be underestimated. PROCLIVITY (11) caught the eye at Dubbo last start and is in the mix.
