THIRD BASE (2) finds his race third-up from the inside gate. Covered plenty of ground in the run when he went under narrowly to run second over 4 ½f at Newcastle on the heavy (9) track. No excuses today in this weaker race. SOBEK (5) resumes after scoring a tough debut victory from a wide gate as fav over 5f at Taree last January. Fitted with a 5f trial win at Tamworth. Trained locally and gets his chance. BENT AS HELL (4) maps well again for this second-up after she gripped on to finish third in the small field at Newcastle over 4 ½f. Goes just as well second-up and worth thought. FLYING MOLLY (7) rewarded for her consistency at start twelve with a fighting Maiden win over 5f at Quirindi. Hard fit now and gets a better set-up today. Value player.
