Kendrick-trained HEART AND SPIRIT (1) won a trial and resumed further improved when beaten a whisker at the Sunshine Coast over 5f in better class. She won 2/2 second up and the 7lbs claim helps offset some of the weight increase. She can use the inside barrier and looks well-placed to win. FLYING ANIMO (6) led and won a 55 here first up spiking his figures. Came back 20 days later and just missed in a CL3. Was a well-supported favourite in both and has been freshened. Has a handy 4lbs claim today and is a live chance. AMBERINGER (10) missed a nose at Emerald first up over 5f in a CL3. Has the inside barrier and will carry just 119lbs with the claim. She won't have to improve much to feature in the finish. MELO MELO KAVA (7) has an awkward barrier but has been busting to win and presents on a quick back-up. Well in the mix.
