LOS PADRES (1) has placed in both runs this campaign and looks ready to win after getting within a neck of Centimetre at Illawarra Grange. He rises in weight, but that shows the level of this race and he has the platform to explode third-up. Can land the knockout blow. SOUL LADY (5) is the clear danger after closing from well back for fourth first-up at Canberra at big odds. She is a track-and-trip winner, gets weight relief and the first-time blinkers give her a genuine second-up spark. ARISTOCRAT (8) resumes with useful last-campaign form, including a solid BM66 fourth at Albury and a Hawkesbury run where he was bumped late. The apprentice claim helps, though he has to be sharp fresh at 6f. VIIPURI (6) had excuses when wide at Hawkesbury and his Goulburn win over Felis Chaus keeps him in the mix. CHRISTMAS STAR (4) can return on a positive note.
