WILL THE THINKER (6) raced forward and placed second over 6f at Nowra on debut, beaten 2.3L on a heavy track. Will be better for that, and this is easier. Boudvillain is a positive jockey engagement, and the longer sprint shouldn't be an issue. INITIATE (9) is a big threat. Was nudged out three starts back at Goulburn and then again at the Sapphire Coast 8 days ago over 6f. Led in that and has the inside gate today, back in grade. Keeps Owen and will get every chance to manage the step up in trip. PASSING THROUGH (10) peaks, and the local should be ready to show more like his best Victorian form. Has a low gate and races forward. Has to be considered. EXTREMELY EXCITING (8) has been ordinary in her last two off awkward barriers. Placed here the one prior and draws handy today. Might be the one to include at a price.

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Bute

Shortened word for phenylbutazone, the common non-steroidal medication legal at most racetrack.

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.
