SALMA'S STAR (8) has been safely held in her two runs this time in work, both at the provincials. Lightly raced filly who should be cherry ripe now and faces a mediocre field so she gets her chance. JEWELS STATEMENT (2) opened this prep with a couple of decent efforts then was too bad to be true at Taree most recently. Given a four-week break and gets to her pet distance today. Can bounce back without surprising. GLAM (7) was well backed and got the job done last time out over 6 ¼f at Ballina. Comes back in trip but has been given a 37-day let-up since that win. Nicely drawn and should be there at the business end. THE LUPERCAL (4) was six weeks between runs when a slogging third in heavy going over 5f at Coffs Harbour last start. Sure to be thereabouts again. ZEDARI (5) is fitter for two runs back from a spell. Needs the track to be soft or better to have any chance.
