Verdict

Six-year-old mare LOVE YOU ANYWAY (7) has found one better at her last five starts, the latest over this trip at Muswellbrook when she closed well to be beaten under a length. Now 17 starts into her maiden prep and still performing - sure to shed the maiden tag soon and this might be her day. FINAL GIFT (11) went close when resuming at Muswellbrook three runs back but has struggled since at provincial level. Very fit and worth another chance in this softer maiden. MR CORNSTAR (3) led for home and offered a lot more resistance last time out but found the winner a little too good over today's journey at Quirindi. Has the gate speed to negate the wide alley. Big chance to go one better with blinkers on for the first time. OAKFIELD MARS (9) resumes. Competitive at the provincials last prep so she is good enough to test this line-up. KIWI HARMONY (14) is a new arrival in the Neil Godbolt stable. Worth considering off a seven-week let-up.
