Verdict

DAMASCUS CALLING (2) progressed nicely last start when second-up from a spell, making late inroads to be beaten just over a length over 6 ¾f at the Beaumont track. Has only raced here once and won his maiden. Perfectly placed out to this trip as peak fitness approaches. ETOILE FILANTE (1) made it three minor placings in a row when he thundered home but just missed last time out over 6 ¼f at the Beaumont circuit. Steps out beyond a sprint journey for the first time but that last run suggests it is the right move. ALAMAGAN (3) was friendless in betting but found the line with purpose to grab second over 7f at Kembla recently. Lightly raced three-year-old with plenty of scope for further improvement. Last start Orange maiden winner RULE OF FAITH (5) steps up sharply in grade but she has raced just four times and is getting better with racing. PLAYFUL PUZZLE (6) gets back on a firm track today and can improve on recent efforts.

Dual acceptor. Form hard to fault. Last start 2nd of 10 at Kembla Grange Cl1 on January 22 over 7f, on a slow track, 2.75 len behind Fast Track with 121lbs at $61. The start before that raced right near the speed and boxed on, won by 0.9 len at Sapphire Coast Mdn-Sw December 29 over 7f on a soft track defeating The Bus with 127lbs at $2.80. Going well enough to take this out.
