JP - Mombetsu - Race 5

CONTI WATCHI (3) brings the most reliable profile, with a third to Keiki Kane at this track last start adding to a record of one win and three places from eight starts at this venue. She was beaten just over three lengths as favourite, so there is a small finishing query, but her placed record at the distance and strong jockey-horse figures give her the clearest case. BLOND KNIGHT (7) has not quickened at his past two, yet his overall track record is sound and the previous run behind Trend Line had more merit than the bare sixth suggests. BRILLER TATION (1) worked home evenly when fifth to Keiki Kane and has already beaten Blond Knight recently, while Fuma Ono returning is a useful support. CHARTER (2) was plain when seventh over 6f after being near the top of betting, but his debut win by three lengths from A Shin Gunter showed enough quality to keep him in calculations if he copes with 1 ¹/16m for the first time.
