Aviatrice was an improver towards the back end of last season and is respected on her return, whilst Final Voyage would also hold strong claims if proving as effective over this shorter trip.

A horse that bleeds due to a ruptured blood vessel during a race or workout. The medication Lasix can fix this problem.

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

The times recorded during the race; with timing starting just past the gate or when the gates open, then parroted for the quarter, half, three-quarters etc. Used as an indication of ability and speed.
