WITH A SMILE (2) settled a touch worse than midfield at The Valley last time out and never really got into calculations, ending up 3.5L off the winner. Purton remains in the saddle today and he returns to a track and trip he's had success at previously. Can return to winning ways. BETTER AND BETTER (11) hasn't been far away over this course and distance in recent efforts and he's been kept up to the mark with a recent trial. He's drawn to sit closer this time around and Ho sticks from the latest trial. He looks the main danger. WINNING DATA (8) closed off strongly last time out and can sit a touch closer this time around with Wong claiming from a good gate. Hasn't won for a while but is knocking on the door and won't be far away. FIT FOR BEAUTY (3) was far too good over this track and trip last time out and can repeat the dose without surprising.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Allowance Race

A race with non-claiming conditions set by the racing secretary. They are meant to be a step down from stakes racing.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
