CHILL BUDDY (1) ended last season with his second local win and looks well placed to continue that progress. The pole position suits his natural speed and he will have plenty of options from that draw. He looks the one to beat. LUCY IN THE SKY (5) showed good speed to lead from an inside draw last week before fading late into fourth, beaten only by a length and a half. The quick turnaround suits and Nichola Yuen's claim is a plus, and he is an each-way hope again. THUNDER KIT (8) hit the line strongly for third at Happy Valley last start, and he has an excellent record over this course and distance, with a win and 3 placings from 5 attempts. Stick with him. GULU GOGO (11) finished sixth on debut last season but has improved noticeably in his trials, and he is expected to be very competitive in this. VIVA PROSPERAR (12) resumes after 11 months off the scene, and has already shown he can fire fresh. A recent trial win suggests he is ready to rumble, so respect any market confidence.
