Verdict

SWIFT ASCEND (1) is the one to beat on the strength of his better Sha Tin form, particularly the C2 fourth at this track two starts back when beaten just under a length after finishing off strongly. He resumes with Purton back aboard and has already won twice at this track and distance, so the profile is much stronger than the All Weather ninth before the break. HAPPY INDEX (3) has been impressive at the trials this time in, winning his last two, including with Ho on board most recently. He can sit handy from the outset and a forward showing is expected on his return. EMBRACE ABERDEEN (10) returned a sharp second at this venue before spelling, beating Happy Index in that form line, and he has a strong track-and-trip record with a light weight. SILK MASTER (9) improved nicely in his last trial since arriving from Australia where he won his only start. May get back in the run but watch for him closing off late.
