Verdict

SOLEIL FIGHTER (4) was solid over this trip first-up at Happy Valley and is better placed coming back onto the All Weather surface. He usually improves with a run under his belt and that's scary after the figures he ran to fresh. Open to improvement now and can get back to winning ways. MOJAVE DESERT (12) was strong late first-up before a 1.8L victory here a fortnight ago. He drops 6kgs for that impressive effort and he maps for a good run from the barrier. Likely to get back in the run but should be flying home late in the race. TALENTS AMBITION (7) ended last season on a good note at this course and distance, running over the top to score by 0.3L. He's trialled well coming into this and is a first-up winner in the past. Can play a role. SING DRAGON (11) will be better for the fresh run here last week where the broke the course and class record. Better suited here and can put his best foot forward.
