SOLID STATE (1) created a big impression winning on debut over 6f and looks a horse with plenty more to offer. The drop to 5f should help him settle and barrier 14 down the straight looks ideal. He is the one to beat. STRAIGHT TO GLORY (4) is a proven straight-course specialist, winning his final 2 starts last season over this track and distance. He also has a good gate, and should hit the ground running. LUCKY CANDY (13) has been remarkably consistent with 5 straight placings, including a narrow defeat to the second pick last time out. He gets another chance to go one better. FAST RESPONDER (2) gets the benefit of Nichola Yuen's claim after they combined for a win and third from 3 rides last season. He can be competitive in this. ALPHA STRIKE (10) resumes with 2 first-up wins on his record and he is worth of each-way consideration.
