Verdict

PEJIBAYE (1) was superb on resumption at this track and trip, sitting up front and only being caught late in the race. Moreira rides now in a big push for his chances and he should be better for the last start effort. Can roll across and give them something to catch again. SPEEDY SMARTIE (2) is another speedy customer who was solid on the turf course here last start, finishing 0.5L off the winner. His performances on this deck have been just as good and he can roll forward from gate 10. Expecting him to be in this for a very long way. BUSTLING CITY (7) has been racing well over 5f his past few and steps out to 6f for the first time since February. He's trialled well on this surface on a couple of occasions and Avdulla maps to get all the favours on this lightly raced galloper. Can go one better. TIN FOOK (5) comes back to 6f today and has raced well on the All Weather previously. Not to be discounted.

Recent form sound. Last start rolled along in front then was edged out late 2nd of 14 at Sha Tin on June 21 over 5f, 0.5 len behind Rapid Phantom carrying 127lbs at $3.10. The race before that crossed from a wide gate to settle just off the pace but gave ground when 2nd of 14 at Sha Tin on May 17 over 5f, 2.5 len behind Lahore carrying 126lbs at $4.30. Looks a key runner.
