LEADING DRAGON (8) couldn't hold on up front when leading over this track and trip last time out, carrying no weight when beaten 1L. Wong replaces her fellow apprentice, so the claim comes in handy and his racing pattern is a big positive. Will be hard to run down once again. PACKING KING (3) was too good off a freshen, winning by 0.3L under Purton as the equal favourite. He jumps 9lbs for that win, though the form has been good out of the race and he's had a quiet trial since that win. Can go on with the job without surprising. GENIUS BABY (4) was a long way off them last start when flying late to be 4.3L off the winner. Teetan rides now and he can sit closer from the draw this time. Expecting him to be thereabouts once again. SUNNY Q (14) beat home Genius Baby last start and can be in the finish once more.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Bolt

A sudden veering to the inside or outside rail, often caused by the horse spooking or shying from something.
