LUCKY RANGER (2) showed plenty of talent despite a beaten favourite on debut, before putting it all together with a 1L win last start at this track and trip. He's been impressive at the trials since and this shapes similarly to his last start win. No reason why he can't go on with the job. ROBOT STAR (3) has been solid in defeat since his win three back, beaten 1.8L last time out as the $2.80 fav. Bowman hops on board today and coming back to the 7f journey may hold the key. Watch for him late in the race. GALLANT EPOCH (1) is hard to knock on recent form. His racing pattern, combined with Yuen's claim is a big tick for his chances. Can be handy in the run and be in this for a long way. CALIFORNIA BAY (8) gets Purton back on board today and a forward showing is on the cards.
