CAP LINER (5) got a long way back on debut here but finished very strongly to be 1.3L off the winner. The outside draw is ideal for the straight course, just hoping he can sit a little closer than he did last time out. If he can be that touch closer in running, then he looks the one to beat off the debut performance. SIGHT HERMOSO (2) won that race after settling midfield and pulled away to score by 1L as a $9.90 chance. He has the race experience on his side, though he does rise in weight for that effort. Looks a nice type on the rise though and can repeat the dose without surprising. PACKING GLORY (10) bolted in to score a recent trial over this course and distance with Purton in the saddle, who remains with the gelding here. The inside draw isn't ideal, but trust Purton to get it right and he can make his presence felt. CHATER FLASH (6) has trialled well coming into this and the booking of J-Mac signals some intent first-up.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Mare

A female horse of five years or more.
