Starter Race

An allowance race restricted to horses who have started for a certain claiming price recently.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.

The officials watching every race at a meet to enforce the rules.
