BIG TUKI (6) put in a solid debut effort when handy outer but was left flat-footed on the turn and got going again late for a close 6th. Better for the experience. Take beating here. LOOSE KNICKERS (3) has had a few chances but the best run of his career came last start when he ran on strongly from midfield. Gets her chance to break through here. WYNDSTRUCK (1) led early then trailed the speed and weakened late when first-up at Wingatui. Beaten 4.4L 8ht in the LR Southland Guineas in February. Improver. FAST LIKE THUNDER (2) was finding the line well for sound 2nds in two starts before latest when eased out of the race with possible lameness. May pay to forgive. MAYJAY (9) worked hard from a wide gate to get the top one off and battled fairly on debut. Improver.
