MELO (9) finished a gutsy third fresh up at Wingatui and then had excuses when being a beaten favourite here 4 weeks ago. She has a good draw and can make amends. On top for us, so follow your money. FAWKE LIGHTNING (6) failed to fire from a wide draw on his home track at Timaru just over a month ago. She treks South with the inform Stewart stable, and with a recent trial win under her belt, she can bounce straight back into the money, despite copping another tricky gate. MARIA PILAR (5) is heading the right way with her form and does appear to have some upside. She was only beaten by a head last time out at Cromwell, and she can go one better, even from her wide draw. RISK MITIGATION (8) may have found the step up to 7f a touch too far at this stage of her career and only battled over the final stages at Cromwell 3 weeks ago. She is worth another chance with the return to 6f. JUST BRENT (16) did nothing on debut here 4 weeks ago, but has had a positive jockey chance. Include.
