CAPTAIN CHEDDAR (1) has not raced for four months but looks forward enough for the return after two solid trials. Showed some promise at the maiden campaign including a debut win here and a placing in a Breeders Challenge heat. Likely to have developed with maturity and should have no excuses from the advantageous draw. Likely to run a big race to kick off this campaign. CALEXICO (9) worked when racing wide but dug deep to salute last start at Shepparton, getting home by a neck as favourite. Race fit now and can travel in a nice spot from this draw and wait on the sprint lane if necessary. SHONNY LOU (5) is looming as a threat after a better effort last start, finishing a 1.3m third at Wedderburn. HEAVENS BADGIRL (10) improved for a 3m second last time out at her second start back from a spell. Can progress further.
