Verdict

BAY OF FIRES (5) is a lightly-raced but progressive colt yet to miss the top-two. Came from this barrier to go under by just a head here last week. Big chance to go one better. SRIRACHA (9) was far from disgraced when fifth from this barrier in a Vicbred heat last start. Had a favourable gate and was too good at Shepparton prior. Should enjoy a pretty soft run from this draw. AFTERSHOCK (7) was a beaten favourite but still solid when a 1.4m third from a similar draw a week ago and was a winner here last month. OPAS GIRL (6) kicked off in Australia with back-to-back city placings before coming from the back row and racing wide before winning here last time. Could take this next step.
