LESTER (4) finished fifth last start over 1 ¹/16m at Swan Hill, beaten 10 metres, after a good win at Mildura the run prior. Beautifully placed and is sure to play a major role. TOPHUT JOHNY (10) was responsible for a far better performance last time out when successful over 1 5/16m at Cobram, getting home by 5 metres after leading. Not drawn to best so may need a 10/10 drive. Recent effort is good enough to win a race of this calibre. PICKLE IT (8) is worth plenty of thought off a last-start win by 2.75 metres at Cranbourne over 5 ¾f. YANKEE GAMBLER (11) is worth some thought after his last-start fifth over 1m at Geelong on December 19.
