Bullet

A bullet, or bullet workout, is a workout that was clocked as the best time for a certain distance on a given day.

Maiden Race

A race exclusively for horses who have not previously won.

Scratch

A horse is a scratch when injury or other necessity causes it to be withdrawn from the race.
