Verdict

VINCENZO (9) was a beaten favourite in a stronger race last start but had put the writing on the wall with placings in his previous two attempts at this circuit and distance. Has to contend with another wide draw but this is a nice drop in grade so he should prove tough to beat. FASTING (2) produced a decent effort for fourth last start at Newcastle, beaten 5 metres. Draws well so could pose a serious challenge. VAN BASTEN (1) has been solid from wider barriers of late and should get his chance from the inside draw. MICK DANGER (8) draws wide but has been racing well, finishing fourth in in the Winter Gift Final last start after a second in the heats.
