KING HIT (1) continued a run of top-four finishes with another good showing from the back row at Newcastle last week. The last time he drew on the pegs he was runner-up at Newcastle. Should get his chance to put another win on the board. LAST TIME JOE (8) made it two wins from his last four outings when he overcame a wide barrier and scored by 4.5 metres at Newcastle last week. That took his strike rate at this distance to 50 per cent. With even luck from the back row he can make it two on the bounce. MCCRIKEY (7) didn't do a bad job when fourth at Newcastle last time out and won twice in a row here prior. Draws to trail the top pick early and if he get the gaps he is a leading hope. FOX TROT (2) won the only time he attempted this circuit and distance and can be competitive from the favourable draw.
