WHILEMENA RITA (7) drew on the back row and worked when placed over a shorter trip here last week. Had been very competitive in the city prior including a win from the widest barrier three back. Hasn't missed a place in four tries at this circuit and distance, winning twice. Primary contender. NEW YORKER (4) brings good form from Victoria having come from this barrier to score a narrow win two back at Maryborough before drawing deep and going back but chasing well for a 2m third at Melton last time. MESSERATI (1) has been coming from wider or second row barriers so could be a big improver from the ace draw. OCTAGONISE (3) draws to be competitive.
