Verdict

POPPY POPSTAR (2) led last start and saluted in a far better performance at Maryborough over 1 5/16m, getting home by 6 metres. A nice draw on the front line should ensure a cosy run. Meets a similar line up so she is capable of taking this out. DONA AMALIA (9) has been in the placings two times from as many appearances this prep. Went back last start then made a long incisive run to finish just 4 metres from the winner in second at Bendigo over 1 m. Tackles a similar assignment and she can grab that well-deserved win. CHAMPAGNES (3) is worth plenty of thought off a last-start win by 3 metres at Gunbower over 1 ¼m. OFF YOUR FACESKI (13) missed the placings two runs back then did a great job to finish 7 metres back in second despite breaking in the run over 1 m at Maryborough four weeks ago. Not drawn to best so may need a 10/10 drive. Only needs to get things right to be in the money again.
