REFEREES (1) resumed two-and-a-half weeks ago over 5 ½f at Murwillumbah and was only beaten 2L into fourth. Fitter and sure to run well despite the wide gate. MARINERA (5) was ridden quietly then made some inroads and finished sixth last time out over 5f at Tamworth a week-and-a-half ago. Steps up in distance and is among the leading chances. QUASIMOTO (2) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Narromine, finishing fourth at the end of 6f after being prominent at the corner. Is up to the task. MIDNIGHT IN MINORI (10) broke her maiden last start over 5 ?f at Dubbo when resuming. Re-unites with Gabrielle Johnston who was on board last start. Tougher assignment this time but is one of the main contenders. LUCKY OZZIE (3) caught the eye first-up at Taree when closing off strongly into a midfield finish. Draws to get back again but can cause a late scare if the pace is genuine.
