Verdict

SUPID DATE (7) turned in an eye-catching run over 7f at Townsville last time, ridden back before coming home with a powerful run to finish third. The winkers come off now. Rates strongly and expected to go close. THE DEFENDER (2) got off the mark when resuming from a spell over 6f at Emerald last start, scoring by 5 lengths. Nicely placed to double the win tally. MASALI RAFFA (4) finished third last start over 6f at Dingo, beaten 0.8 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is capable of testing his rivals and looks one at odds. HEROIC TALENT (3) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7 ¾f at this track, beaten 7 lengths into ninth. Raul Silvera Olivera gets the best out of this four-year-old gelding. Well placed to turn things around.
