Verdict

HALF PIPE (11) started at a very short quote and got the job done first-up at Muswellbrook. Had no luck in the run subsequently at Randwick so his effort to be beaten just 2.6 lengths was full of merit. Great chance to return to the winner's list. MISTY VEIL (8) has come of age this prep, collecting her maiden two back then working home well for third as favourite over 4 ½f at Newcastle last time. Should be even more effective over the extra ½f today. STILL ALICE (3) was six weeks between runs when third in a similar race to this here last start. Given another month to recover from that effort. Lightly raced six-year-old mare who is a leading contender. AEGIPAN (10) was ridden aggressively and just failed to record a seventh 5f win when beaten narrowly here three weeks ago. Right in contention with the help of the inside alley. TAI LUNG (4) wasn't far away first-up over this course and distance. The winner of three from six second up so he has the right profile.
