Verdict

MY SHAREENA (6) gave away a big start on the bend then flew late to be beaten less than a length when fresh from a spell over 7f at Newcastle last start. Won her only race when second-up. Looks the one to beat stepping out to the mile. GLASTONBURY GIRL (5) made a late dive but just missed in a three-way thriller over 7f at Newcastle last time out. Has raced once at this trip and was successful. Cherry ripe and looms as a genuine threat. BON FRANKIE (4) was looking for more ground last start when down the track over 7f at the Kenso. Key runner on his return to the provincials at the fourth run of the prep. DEEPWATER ARTIST (2) won a similar race to this at Newcastle two back before a fourth at Canterbury more recently. Has his share of weight but looks sure to be thereabouts. On pacer MCADAM (1) has won three on the bounce and now goes up a touch in grade. Hard to knock.

An approximation of expected odds in a race, quoted before actual odds are determined.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
