Verdict

WAIHEKE ROSE (4) has made a bright start to her career. Beaten a long neck on debut in a strong form race at Warwick Farm then did some early work to find the lead before being swamped late over 7f at Newcastle last start. Blinkers on for the first time might give her that extra 5% required. The danger is SATIN SERENADE (1) who has been in the money at all three runs to date. Closed well to finish just ahead of Waiheke Rose at Newcastle last time out at the second run of her campaign. Very fit and should enjoy this slightly longer journey. SEMINAL (6) started favourite on debut recently over 6 ½f at Hawkesbury but didn't quicken as hoped and found a couple better. Given a month between runs and should be a lot more effective out to this journey. VISION IN A DREAM (2) raced wide without cover so her effort to keep coming and be beaten just half a length first-up at this track had plenty of merit. Wide gate the only knock. Market watch on FORSAKEN (5) back from a four-month spell.
