EAGLE'S FIRE (2) impressed when third in a Class 3 over this distance at Doomben two starts ago. Showed pace but struggled to maintain the pressure when he stepped back to 5f at the Gold Coast last time. Down in class and returns to a more suitable trip so he looks the testing material. Rising eight-year-old CALMER KARMA (1) maintains a zest for racing. Opened this prep with two wins from three then showed pace but just felt the pinch in the dying stages of a comparable race to this last start. The stable has made a handful of gear changes to trick the old fellow back to winning form. STARSARISE (5) has been easily accounted for in two appearances this prep, both times over shorter journeys. Ready to peak third-up over a little more ground. FLITGROVE (6) is a last-start Gatton winner with definite claims with the help of a lovely draw. Last start Beaudesert maiden winner OUR GIRL SCARLETT (8) is progressing nicely and won't be out of place in this company.
