MONARCHAL (12) is the top pick despite a plain first-up figure. Tackles a softer assignment second-up and a strong Doomben trial win in between, giving him clear scope to improve sharply. ANDERLAY (7) placed here on debut when leading them into the straight, before a good effort in town last start when forced back to the inside for a run. Peaking now and with the benefit of the claim, she rates a big threat. FLYING AKEED (13) has found the maiden win elusive but two solid trials should have him forward enough fresh, and a low draw helps. SPOILT ROTTEN (11) is another that has found it tough to get off the mark but has been good in both runs back and with a fitness edge he can play a role in the finish. FILTHY (1) chased gamely into the placings when resuming at Lismore and gets the key booking of Thompson. Worth keeping safe.
