Verdict

Tough. TIDEFORD (5) was in the firing line all the way and fought on beaten 1.3L over 1 ¼m at Launceston, making it two minor placings in a row. Always puts in and may again control the race. Deserves another chance. RESERVOIR DOG (11) turned in a nice effort in the same contest last time, finishing just 0.8 lengths from the winner, and is sure to improve off that. The former Victorian has to manage a wide gate today, but keeps Byrne Burke and that helps offset. IFFYCOULD (1) came back in trip and grade over 1 5/16m at Launceston, beaten less than 2L in a 68. Has a low barrier and 4lbs claim and is in the mix. MOORLANDS MISS (6) finished just ahead of the above in the same contest, and despite the awkward gate, is also capable of making the finish. GODDESS OF ROCK (10) steps up to a middle distance for the first time and keep onside.
