NYMPHADORA (10) frustrating mare resuming. Unlucky not to have a few more wins on the CV and returns in a winnable race on her home track. Closed well in her only trial and can get the better of these fresh. SPRIGHTLY AFFAIR (8) scored a dominant win first-up when she ploughed through the heavy going over 4 ½f at Newcastle. Looks up to this tougher contest from the good gate. MAIDOFF (3) resumes and looks set for a big campaign after the two good trials. Came to the end of his prep with a fast finishing fourth over 6f at Gosford last April. Leading contender at the good odds. DIRTY SUMMER (2) resumes. Went out a winner over this track and trip last May in a Super Maiden. Fitted with the two trials and ticks a few boxes with the claim.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Condition Book

A list of upcoming races issued by the racing secretary, where the conditions of races to be run over the next few weeks are written.

Also Eligible

A horse that is entered but does not draw into the body of the field due to too many entries, and thus is not permitted to start unless there are enough scratches to shrink the field size.
