Tricky little contest to start the day. WITHOUT SURRENDER (2) excellent debut when he sat on the speed for a narrow second over 5f at this track from the outside gate. Has plenty of upside and will prove tough to beat. EVER SO READY (1) deep into the campaign and will find this more to his liking. Raced on the speed with the 130lbs before he faded to finish seventh over 5 ½f at Doomben. Assess on his good placing at Eagle Farm three-back. Leading player. ACRODANCE (3) resumes. Won on debut last December, then thrown in the deep end when last in the G3 Bruce McLachlan over 6f at Eagle Farm last December. Placed in a recent trial at the Gold Coast and stays in the mix. LE STARCELL (5) chipped away late on debut to secure third over 5f at this track. Can sneak into the minor money.
