Good competitive contest with plenty of chances. POSEIDON'S SON (5) has gone to a new level this campaign as he chases his third straight victory. Shouldered the 133lbs with a comfortable win over 6f at Lismore in easier grade. Can raise the bar with the 9lbs claim and prove hard to run down. EAGLE HAWK STAR (7) fitter now third-up and will find this more to his liking. Slow into stride and never looked a winning prospect with a fast finishing fifth over 5 ½f at Doomben. Placed in Highway grade last prep and will appreciate the extra journey. DAYTONA (2) returns from a lengthy break and is now in the Dean Smith yard. Comes to hand quickly and proven at the trip after racing in tougher races last year. Will drift back early and close off late. Each-way. COUNT NICHOLAS (9) holding his form in easier grade and gets his chance to win again with the big weight drop. Anchored with the 133lbs when saluting over 5 ¼f at the Gold Coast Poly in BM55 class. Well drawn and can run the trip.
