Verdict

ROYAL COMMODORE (7) returns from a 23-week spell. Opened the last campaign with a comfortable win in a BM64 over 5f at Wyong then struggled in a couple of runs over longer trips in town. Finds the perfect set-up to launch this prep. LADY WARDELL (4) ran her usual honest race last time out, racing handy but finding one better in a similar race to this at Ballina. Draws the fence so another top three finish looks on the cards. Last start Bowraville winner PIXIE HALLOW (10) might find this a bit tougher but his record over many seasons at this trip is difficult to fault. WILBURY (1) was too bad to be true first-up. Has changed stables since and is a genuine hope if he's back to somewhere near his best. Expect him to be handy.
