Verdict

NORTH OF ELI (5) resumed over 5f at this track last start and after showing little early speed closed hard to score by 1.5 lengths. Has the rails gate today and a handy 7lbs claim. Proven second-up, and he can go on with the job. SPIRIT OF BRODIE (7) didn't get into it on the poly here last time but led and won comfortably on the turf the one prior. That stacks right up and he has the blinkers on again. Deserves another chance. TREPORTI (2) spoiled things with a slow start at Doomben, but was only beaten 1.8L from the speed at Eagle Farm prior. This is much easier, and he's been freshened. Expect him to use the low barrier and give a big sight. MISHANI RENEGADE (1) is better than the form-line suggests. Hasn't been having the best of it, and a much better effort wouldn't surprise. KATDEEL (4) resumes and always puts in. May find this a touch short but deserves to be kept onside.
