RHETORIC (2) returns from a spell of 11 weeks and is having his first run for a new yard. Three start maiden and all three in NSW in far richer grade. Has good speed and the blinkers added. Expected to go close. LUCKY MAN (6) lines up for the first time since July 31. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 4 ?f at Toowoomba. Placed 2/2 this trip and expected to feature fresh. TORQUE TOO EASY (8) is a two-start maiden who placed on debut then could only manage 12th last start, beaten 9 lengths over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Tricky gate but has speed and this easier so deserves another chance. SWEET ARMANI (9) produced a better run last start, beaten 3 lengths into fourth over 5 ½f at this track. Has her share of talent and is a top-three prospect. SHALAA STRIKE (5) is a first starter out of Group 3 winning dam Punch On. Has had a lot of education in former yard in Victoria. Watch market.

Claim of foul lodged by a jockey for perceived dangerous or illegal riding by a rival.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
