LOCKYER (14) put the writing on the wall last start when he stoked up late to be beaten just over a length over 6 ¾f at Doomben. Handy three-year-old who gets in beautifully again and is more at home on the bigger Eagle Farm circuit. MONTPELLIER (2) made late inroads and wasn't beaten far when resuming in a BM78 over this distance at Rosehill last time out. Drops 3kgs under today's scale and is wearing winkers for the first time. This looks a lovely race for him. SMEXY (10) chimed in at the right time but just missed in the same race as Lockyer at Doomben a fortnight ago. Has been up for a while but continues to deliver. Major player from a nice draw down in the weights. CALL DA VINCI (1) was also close up in the Lockyer/Smexy race, doing his best work late. Sure to prove hard to hold out. MOONAN QUARTZ (4) steps up in grade again to face by far his stiffest test. Cannot be overlooked with just 52kgs after the claim from an inside draw.
